Below are short, canonical definitions designed for readers and compatible parsers.

What is GEO?

Generative Engine Optimization: an emerging practice for making owned content explicit, structured, and easier for generative retrieval systems to parse. It does not control provider use or citation.

What is AEO?

Answer Engine Optimization: an emerging practice emphasizing clear, direct answer structure for answer-oriented interfaces. It does not guarantee selection.

What is a support system?

A structured set of answers, taxonomy, and learning paths that helps customers self-serve.

What is an answer engine?

A system that generates answers from model knowledge and, depending on the product and request, retrieved sources. Source use and citations vary.

What is self-service?

The ability for customers to solve problems without live support, using clear documentation.

What is the difference between a knowledge base and a support system?

A knowledge base is a collection of articles. A support system is an organized, outcome-driven structure with approvals.
