GEOGenerative Engine Optimization — is an emerging practice of structuring and governing content so it is easier for generative retrieval systems to parse and potentially use. Unlike classic SEO's focus on search-result visibility, GEO work often emphasizes direct answers, explicit entities, consistent facts, source evidence, and machine-readable structure. The term is not a guarantee, standard ranking formula, or visibility entitlement: proprietary engines decide which sources to retrieve, transform, and cite using systems EntityMesh cannot inspect. GEO complements rather than replaces crawlability, technical SEO, reputation, and content quality.

Generative answer systems may synthesize responses from retrieved material and may show citations. Their source-selection behavior varies by product, model, query, index, geography, and time. Common structural practices to test include:

  • Short, direct answers placed immediately under the question they answer.
  • Question-led headings (H2/H3) that mirror how people actually ask.
  • Approved, canonical definitions so the same fact appears the same way everywhere.
  • Structured data (schema.org) — FAQ, HowTo, Product, Article — that labels what each block means.
  • An /llms.txt file where useful as an emerging publisher convention. It does not override robots policy or prove that a provider supports or uses it.

A concrete implementation pattern is a pricing question answered in a concise paragraph under an explicit heading, with valid structured data where appropriate. That can be easier to parse than diffuse copy; whether a provider quotes it must be observed rather than assumed.

Support systems can supply structured owned content

Support and answer content often covers refunds, setup, compatibility, and fit questions. A structured support hub can make that material more organized and retrievable, but no external-engine use or citation is implied.
